The Creation of Adam (After Michelangelo) — Yog-Sothoth Eldritch Horror Art Print / Graphic Tee
Description (revised):
Michelangelo spent four years on his back painting the Sistine Chapel. The result was the most reproduced image in Western art — God and Adam, fingertip to fingertip, the spark of divine creation suspended in that eternal gap.
He got the gap right. He got the finger right. He got basically everything right except who was on the other side.
This is the corrected version.
Yog-Sothoth — the Outer God, the Key and the Gate, a congeries of iridescent spheres that exists simultaneously at every point in space and time — extends a single tendril across the void toward the outstretched hand of Adam, who, to his credit, seems to be taking it pretty well. The eyes watching from within the mass are not unkind. They've simply already seen how this ends. All possible endings, actually, at once, forever.
The storm clouds gathering behind him are not metaphorical.
Rendered faithfully in Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel fresco tradition — cracked plaster, warm sienna palette, the full gravitas of the Renaissance — because if you're going to replace God with an incomprehensible extradimensional entity composed entirely of spheres and eyes, you should at least have the decency to do it beautifully.
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Yog-Sothoth — the gate, the key, the one who definitely knows what he's doing.
